GREAT SKIN

“Aging is accelerated by sugar consumption through a process called glycation. When this occurs, tissue elasticity reduces to cause skin sagging.” – The Green Diet

Sugar is a great harm to your skin, causing wrinkles, aging, and acne. Fresh fruits and vegetables on the other hand hydrate your skin and supply the vitamins and minerals that your skin needs to stay young, healthy, and radiant.

Just a couple of examples, (this list could go on and on):

Radishes and Cucumbers, are high in skin-beautifying sulfur, silicon, and vitamin C (buy organic and don’t peel them).

Papayas are full of enzymes and minerals, including papain, which helps cleanse the skin.

Watercress acts as an internal skin antiseptic and skin cleanser.

I recently got a message from a friend of mine about her success eating Green.  She has been eating Green now for a month or two and saw some friends that couldn’t believe how great she looked. She told me, “they weren’t just talking abut my weight loss, but they went on and on about how great my  skin looked. I explained that it was just another benefit from detoxifying and going green.”

Thank you for sharing your success with me, you made my day!

I struggled with acne from about age 11 – 26. It was only when I started eating “greener” that my skin cleared up. All those years when doctors told me diet had nothing to do with my skin. Think of how much heart ache I could have avoided!

This is great, Mary. Thanks for the information explaining why I'm getting the results I am. No more facials for me! They're not necessary.

Thank you for sharing this with me. It is so frustrating to me that the medical programs don’t focus more on nutrition. It is such an integral part of our health. I have also noticed big improvements in my skin as I have eaten Greener.

k so you know I'm hooked, but still don't have a clue on how to incorporate some of these veggies in. How do you incorporate radishes and watercress??

I think that watercress makes a great sandwich topper- try it on an avocado sandwich or a hummus sandwich or even on a veggie burger.
Whenever I think about radishes I think of my dad, he loves them and whenever they are in season he trims them, sprinkles them with salt and pops them in his mouth. You can also dice them up and add them to a cold pasta salad. They can be a bit spicy, but so refreshing.
